I've spent the last week snipping pounds and pounds of fur off my sweet boy. I found a tiny little trimmer at PetSmart that he didn't mind so much - only about a half inch across, and it runs on one AA battery, so the shaving has been quite a lengthy procedure. And then, once I got his sides pretty much mowed, I noticed that he's got a great big round circular "bump" on his right side. It's soft, and it doesn't seem to move, and he doesn't seem to feel anything when I touch it. He's pretty crabby usually, and he hates for anyone to touch him below the waist, so not reacting to the "bump" being touched seems like a good sign. Hopefully.
